Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Director to join our team. As an Activities Director, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating engaging activities for residents in our nursing home and assisted living facility. Your role will be vital in promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being for our residents.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program that meets the physical, emotional, and social needs of our residents
• Create a monthly calendar of activities and events, ensuring a variety of options for residents to choose from
• Coordinate and lead group activities such as games, crafts, exercise classes, and outings
• Collaborate with other staff members to integrate activities into the overall care plan for each resident
• Communicate regularly with residents and their families to gather feedback and suggestions for activity programming
• Provide one-on-one support to residents who may require additional assistance or specialized activities due to memory care or other needs
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities and document any changes or concerns observed
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines related to activity programming in a healthcare setting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, recreational therapy, or a related field preferred
• Previous experience working in a nursing home or assisted living facility strongly preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
• Compassionate and patient demeanor with the ability to connect with residents on an individual level
• Knowledge of caregiving principles and techniques for older adults
• Familiarity with memory care programs and strategies is a plus
