Full Job Description Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Director to join our team. As an Activity Director, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning and implementing engaging activities. This position is ideal for individuals with a background in social work, recreational therapy, or dementia care.

Duties:

• Plan and organize a variety of recreational activities for residents, taking into consideration their interests and abilities
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents
• Lead group activities such as games, crafts, exercise classes, and outings
• Collaborate with other staff members to create a stimulating and inclusive environment
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating events and programs
• Ensure the safety and well-being of residents during activities

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to connect with individuals of varying cognitive abilities and backgrounds
• Knowledge of assisted living or nursing home care is a plus
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with residents
