• Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program for residents in an assisted living or nursing home setting
• Plan and coordinate a variety of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities to meet the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of residents
• Assess residents’ interests, abilities, and needs to create individualized activity plans
• Lead group activities such as exercise classes, arts and crafts, games, and outings
• Provide one-on-one support and assistance to residents who require additional help with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the overall well-being of residents
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress “`Qualifications“`
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, recreational therapy, or a related field preferred
• Experience working with older adults in an assisted living or nursing home setting
• Knowledge of aging issues and the ability to provide counseling and support to residents and their families
• Familiarity with dementia care techniques and strategies
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff members
• Excellent organizational skills to manage activity schedules and coordinate events
