PRINCIPLE DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

: Develop and oversee resident enrichment, through programming that focuses on The Overlook’s 7 Dimensions of Well Being; establish a cohesive, well-rounded, and synchronistic approach In collaboration with the Campus Enrichment Team, build, coordinate, and manage a robust Volunteer Program Develops and maintains a high level and dynamic Wellness Program for Overlook Residents in Overlook Communities while collaborating with Campus Enrichment Team to ensure continuity of programming across the Campus, incorporating the 7 Dimensions of Wellness. Develop memory impairment programs for all Residents based on best practices in a dementia friendly environment; oversees implementation and evaluate outcomes that enable Residents to remain engaged in a safe, supportive and welcoming space. Establish and design a robust Overlook volunteer program across the Campus; oversee and manage the growth and recruitment, training and ongoing contact of Overlook Resident volunteers and external community Volunteers for OC in collaboration with OMHC. Oversee the creation and implementation of Resident programs and clubs that meet the needs of Residents across the Campus. Using interviewing skills and applied knowledge of group dynamics, guides and advises Residents in identifying needs and personal growth opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

: Bachelor’s or associate Degree in a related field, including Health, Wellness, Hospitality, and Recreational Therapy, preferred. GED/Diploma required. Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working with seniors and developing programming in a continuing care retirement community or community-based setting (i.e. wellness resort, university campus, etc.) Certified Dementia Practitioner Therapeutic Recreation Diploma preferred (or the ability to receive within one year)
