Activity Coordinator Dunmore Senior Living of Oxford 200 Coventry Drive, Oxford, NC 27565 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Coordinator to join our team. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for seniors by planning and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being. The ideal candidate will have a background in senior care or social work, with a strong understanding of aging issues and memory care. Responsibilities Develop and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Assist residents in participating in activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment. Provide counseling on aging issues and support for residents facing challenges related to memory care. Collaborate with nursing home staff to create a supportive environment for long-term care residents. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to promote engagement and participation. Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make adjustments based on resident feedback and needs. Organize special events, outings, and community engagement opportunities that foster social connections. Qualifications Experience in senior care, home community care, or memory care is preferred. Background in social work or related fields is highly desirable. Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with seniors empathetically. Knowledge of aging issues and the ability to provide appropriate counseling support. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
