Position Summary:

The primary function of this position is to assist in the organization and implementation of all recreational programs and functions availed to each resident in accordance with all federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations which govern the facility, and as directed by the Activities Director and/or Administrator so as to ensure the recreational and leisure needs of each resident is met in an enthusiastic, safe, and orderly manner. Duties and Responsibilities – Activity Assistant 1. Implementation of activity programs designed to meet the recreational and leisure time needs of each resident. 2. Assists in transporting residents to and from programs. 3. Maintains activity equipment and supplies in a clean, orderly manner. 4. Assists in maintaining records of individual resident participation. 5. Assists with resident outings. 6. Prepares activity area(s) for scheduled programs and restores afterwards. 7. Assists in the orientation and coordination of volunteers. 8. Adheres to, upholds and enforces all facility policies and procedures. 9. Reports supply and equipment needs to the Activities Director. 10. Reports any defective, worn, broken, etc., equipment to the Activities Director. 11. Attends department meetings and/or educational programs as scheduled or assigned.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

1. Must be able to walk and sit for extended periods of time. 2. Required to reach, handle and manipulate equipment on occasion. 3. Works in and around all areas of the facility.
