This role is essential in creating an engaging and supportive environment that promotes social interaction, physical activity, and mental stimulation among individuals in assisted living and nursing home settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in social work or related fields, with experience working with people with disabilities, dementia care, and aging issues. Responsibilities Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive activities program tailored to the needs and interests of residents. Schedule and manage daily activities, ensuring a variety of options that cater to different abilities and preferences. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote participation in activities. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure activities align with residents’ care plans. Provide assistance during activities, ensuring safety and engagement for all participants. Organize special events, outings, and celebrations that foster community involvement. Evaluate the effectiveness of programs regularly and make adjustments based on resident feedback. Experience Proven experience in schedule management within a healthcare or social services setting. Background in social work or related fields is preferred. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia care is highly desirable. Familiarity with aging issues counseling and assisted living environments is beneficial. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with residents, families, and staff members. Ability to assist residents physically as needed during activities while promoting independence.
