Job Summary Under the general supervision of theDirector of Women & Children’s Services, the RN Coordinator -Women’s Services provides leadership and coordination for unitoperations, staffing, quality assurance, and performanceimprovement initiatives This role supports the achievement ofdepartmental and hospital-wide goals while ensuring high-qualitypatient care The coordinator serves as a clinical resource andmentor to staff and may provide direct patient care as needed Thisposition requires strong communication, leadership, and criticalthinking skills in a dynamic and collaborative clinical environmentEssential Functions Coordinates staff scheduling, educational anddevelopment activities, and performance evaluations Identifies andresolves issues impacting delivery of clinical care and patientflow Performs and supports quality assurance/quality improvement(QA/QI) activities within the department Serves as a liaison andclinical resource for staff, patients, families, and externalproviders Ensures departmental compliance with accreditation andregulatory standards, including Joint Commission requirementsCollaborates with leadership in managing the department budget andoperational resources Provides direct patient care as needed withinWomen’s Services scope of practice Supports a team culture based ontrust, accountability, and open communication Participates in orleads special projects, committees, or initiatives related toWomen’s Services Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/ExpectationsDemonstrates ability to manage and prioritize in high-stresssituations Effective communication and leadership skills withteam-oriented approach Knowledge of clinical standards,regulations, and best practices for Women’s Services Proficient inusing electronic medical records (EMR) and clinical softwareAbility to mentor and educate clinical staff and support teamdevelopment Competency in applying the nursing process for patientassessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation Mustbe able to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods Requiresability to lift and/or move patients and equipment, occasionally upto 50 pounds Requires ability to see, hear alarms, communicateeffectively, and respond promptly to emergencies Hospital-basedenvironment with exposure to blood, body fluids, infectiousmaterials, and various clinical hazards Frequent interaction withpatients, families, staff, and interdisciplinary teams in afast-paced clinical setting Qualifications Education Associate’sDegree in Nursing required Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferredLicenses/Certifications Current RN License in applicable staterequired Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire AdvancedCardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support(PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 90 days ofhire Fetal Monitoring or Inpatient Obstetrics certificationpreferred Experience Prior experience as an RN in obstetricsrequired Pediatric RN experience preferred
