Summary The RN is responsible and accountable for providing and coordinating patient care. The RN identifies and addresses patient’s needs and priorities through assessment, planning, and collaboration with other healthcare providers. The RN will execute physician orders and supervise the implementation of nursing interventions. The RN functions as a patient advocate representing the patient’s interests when illness prevents an individual from being physically or emotionally able to express their feelings or thoughts. The RN evaluates response to care through the outcomes of clinical results, patient satisfaction, and acceptable cost. Responsibilities Assess and triage patients in the emergency room setting. Provide critical care and support to patients experiencing life-threatening conditions. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Educate patients and their families about health conditions and discharge instructions. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Participate in continuous education and training to stay current with best practices in emergency nursing. Requirements Current RN license in the state of practice. Experience in critical care or emergency room nursing preferred. Strong assessment and triage skills in high-pressure situations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and staff. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Education Graduate of State Board School of Nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure. Hospital-based BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period. ACLS and PALS courses within one year of employment. Completion of TNCC course preferred.
