RequiredQualifications:
- One year’s recent experience as a Cath Lab RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS(AHA/ ARC) Certification
- Current ACLS (AHA/ARC)
CertificationPreferred Qualifications:
- PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC Certifications
- RCIS certification
- Other certifications and licenses may berequired for this position
Summary:
The Travel Cath Lab RN providesspecialized care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterizationand interventional treatments. The RN prepares patients forprocedures, assists during interventions, and monitors immediatepost-procedure recovery. Working closely with cardiologists andcath lab teams, this role requires advanced cardiac care skills,cardiac catheterization skills, strong communication, and theability to adapt quickly while maintaining strict safety andregulatory standards.
Essential Work Functions:
- Conductassessment of patients prior to procedures, including reviewingmedical history, performing physical exams
- Assist in positioningpatients correctly for the procedure and ensure EKG electrodes andcardiac leads are properly placed
- Assist physicians duringprocedures, including the placement of catheters, wires, balloons,stents, structural heart devices, and other cardiac interventions
- Operate and monitor hemodynamic equipment, recognizing andresponding to changes in cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic waveforms
- Assist in arterial and/or venous sheath removal using closuredevices, manual pressure, or mechanical compression, and transportpatients to the appropriate recovery area
- Monitor vital signs,ECG, and hemodynamic parameters during cardiac catheterization andinterventional procedure
- Support post-procedure care, includingmonitoring patient recovery and ensuring a smooth transition to thenext phase of care
- Maintain and troubleshoot cath lab equipment,ensuring everything is functioning properly and fully stocked forprocedures
- Communicate effectively with team members, patients,families, and physicians to provide seamless care
- Adhere tohospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, andregulatory standards
- Perform other duties as assigned within thescope of practice
Required Essential Skills:

- The ability to read, write, & communicate in the English languageis required
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions,follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
