RN Staff Development Nurse:
Coordinates and provides instruction to new and tenured clinical/non-clinical staff related to orientation and ongoing competency assessments utilizing a variety of settings and methodologies, including classroom and off site education. Partners with Director of Nursing, administrators and other clinical staff in determining skills assessed for competency based upon new education, clinical techniques/processes, etc. and determines appropriate evaluation methods for each. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates ongoing education to meet organizational needs. Serves a professional resource for internal and external customers. Incorporates critical thinking skills, evidence-based practice and quality into all educational activities. Implements and monitors orientation program for all new employees according to policies, procedures and Federal/State requirements Review Nursing Exception Report and compare it the schedule and hall assignment. Post Daily Staffing Requirement per Federal and State Regulations Completes and maintains accurate working schedules in compliance with State Staffing Regulations and facility budget. Participate and attend monthly QA meetings / Attend and participate in daily morning meetings
QUALIFICATIONS
Current Registered Nurse by State required Experience in the long term care or working with the geriatric population as a Staff Development Nurse is highly preferred. Must have at least three years nursing experience Clerical ability is necessary to read reports and utilize data accurately for other purposes. Skill in organizing and planning programs and managing personnel to provide nursing service for residents. Ability to plan and direct the department, coordinating with other departments.
