Responsibilities Intermediate Care Unit RNs (IMCU RNs) treatpatients who are suffering from serious conditions, such asdiabetes mellitus, electrolyte imbalances, renal failure, liverfailure, gastrointestinal bleeds, blood disorders, cancer, sepsis,respiratory distress or multi-system organ failure. IMCU RN jobresponsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assess each patient’s needs individually and collect relevantdata, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pain levels,according to the facility’s prescribed procedure Perform physician-prescribed treatments and communicateeffectively with patients, families, and physicians, being anadvocate for the patient Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examination andtreatment of patients
