Purpose StatementHome infusion therapy (HIT) is a method ofadministering infusion therapy directly in a patient’s home as wellas in other settings such as nursing homes, hospitals, andoutpatient clinics. The versatility of HIT provides patients withmore autonomy over their care.

The role of a Home Infusion RNinvolves delivering excellent patient care. This specializedposition caters to adult patients, providing them with thenecessary treatment. As a Home Infusion RN, your primaryresponsibility is infusion therapy involving a variety oftreatments including but not limited to IVIG, monoclonalantibodies, enzyme replacement, clotting factor, and other agentsusing various methods of administration. This job requires a blendof clinical expertise and compassionate care.

This position reportsto the Area Director of Infusion Services.

Required Education andExperience Current and valid RN license. A minimum of 3 yearsnursing experience is required. Excellent IV skills and a passionfor working with patients. Strong clinical assessment and criticalthinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a home caresetting. Proficient in electronic health record (EHR)documentation. Candidates must have excellent IV skills and enjoyworking with patients. Successful candidates will likely develop asteady caseload of grateful and satisfied patients. Previousexperience in critical care areas preferred. Minimum of 1 year inhospital infusion therapy, home infusion therapy preferred.

Certification in infusion therapy (CRNI) is a plus. Preferred areaof expertise to include pediatrics and adult medicalcare.

Responsibilities Administer infusion therapies, includingIVIG, monoclonal antibodies, enzyme replacement, and clottingfactor, following physician orders and established protocols.

Assess and monitor patients during infusion therapy to ensuresafety and efficacy. Educate patients and their families oninfusion therapy procedures, potential side effects, and self-carepractices. Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and otherhealthcare professionals to develop and implement patient careplans. Provide comprehensive patient assessments, includingphysical and psychosocial factors, to tailor care to individualneeds. Document patient care activities, treatment plans, andoutcomes promptly and accurately. Participate in continuousprofessional development to stay abreast of industry trends,guidelines, and best practices. Other duties as assigned.byJobble
