Description
JOB SUMMARY
Competent Clinician, knowledgeable and skilled in specialty area. Contributing member of the interdisciplinary team. Practice is characterized by predominantly interdependent decision-making. Practice is problem focused, but patient centered in the manner care is provided. Able to manage unexpected or emergency situations that are commonly seen in assigned specialty population. Serves as a resource for licensed and unlicensed clinic staff. Can manage commonly seen contingency situations that arise on his/her clinical unit.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / CRITICAL TASKS
Adheres to the Mission, Vision, and Values of UT Health East Texas.
Performs technical procedures/skills in the specialty area of oncology which includes the administration of medications and treatments specific to cancer care primarily.
Flexibility and willingness to cover in other clinics as needed.
Accountable for the identification and reduction of unsafe practices that could cause harm to patients.
Responsible for acquiring working knowledge of and maintaining ongoing understanding of required practices, procedures and processes to meet and exceed regulatory compliance standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
ACCOMPANYING KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
Bilingual a plus.
EMR experience.
Ability to operate standard office equipment and medical equipment such as I.V. pumps, portable oxygen, fluids, etc.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited Registered Nurse program.
RN with clinical experience in area of Oncology preferred.
RN with experience in clinic setting preferred.
Must possess and maintain a current RN license to practice in Texas.
Must possess and maintain current CPR Healthcare Provider.
OCN certification and Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certificate of added qualification preferred at hire. Mandatory within 12 months of eligibility.
