Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursingprocess in accordance with applicable scope and standards ofpractice.
Performs plan of care intervention, including medicationadministration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as wellas other medical care treatment. Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition asappropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. Assistspatients with performing activities of daily living, includingpersonal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patientcare, including patient transfer, discharge, referral andspiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs ofpatient and/or family and provides patient/family educationappropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Works asan advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of thepatient. Perform other duties as assigned. May be required toperform duties of the CNA, MA or LPN or other nursing staff onoccasion. Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service,projects and committees as assigned. Adheres to and supportspolicies and procedures of the STRHS. Works scheduled shiftsincluding overtime, when necessary. Accepts all call schedule asdirected. Maintains a neat and professional appearance incompliance to the existing dress code.
