Job SummaryThe Senior Director, Nursing Operations providesstrategic leadership and operational oversight for nursing servicesacross CHS corporate and affiliate locations. This role supportsthe Vice President, Nursing Operations and Senior VicePresident/CNE by driving performance improvement initiatives,advancing nursing processes, and managing performance metrics. TheSenior Director collaborates with corporate, regional, and hospitalleaders to implement nursing strategies, ensure compliance withregulatory standards, and enhance patient care delivery. Thisposition requires travel to CHS-affiliated locations.
EssentialFunctions Implements nursing initiatives to enhance patient caredelivery, align with organizational goals, and improve nursingperformance metrics. Collaborates with corporate and regional leaders to evaluatestaffing and productivity, recommending and implementingadjustments as needed. Analyzes operational and clinical data to identify trends andvariances, providing actionable insights to driveimprovements. Oversees the development, deployment, and evaluation of nursingonboarding, orientation, and competency programs. Leads efforts to improve metrics related to capacityoptimization, throughput, OB services, and surgicalperformance. Partners with Nursing Informatics to implementtechnology-enabled solutions, such as virtual nursing services,enhanced EHR documentation, and optimized nursing workflows. Works closely with HR to ensure successful onboarding andcompetency evaluation for senior nursing leaders (e.g., CNOs,ACNOs) and nurse directors. Collaborates with Patient Safety, Nursing Regulatory, andQuality teams to ensure compliance with safety standards,regulatory requirements, and evidence-based practices. Supports the development and execution of nursing-relatedscorecards, ensuring alignment with safety and qualitymetrics. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications Master’s Degree in Nursing, Health Administration, or relatedfield required. 7-9 years of nursing operations with progressive nursingleadership experience required. 2-4 years of previous CNO experience required.

Demonstrates expertise in nursing operations, regulatoryrequirements, and healthcare industry standards. Adapts quickly to evolving priorities and challenges,maintaining a focus on achieving organizational objectives.
