The RN Accreditation Specialist shall be responsible for all aspects of oversight of compliance activities for Cardiovascular accreditation and/or regulatory agency requirements. This individual shall be responsible to develop and implement related educational activities for accreditation. The Specialist will be responsible to analyze data to develop quality improvement initiatives as well as to identify, plan, educate, and assist to implement change as required by new/evolving standards.. The Specialist will also oversee and manage accreditation readiness. This individual will develop methodologies to support departments to achieve and exceed continual compliance requirements. Quality improvement initiatives related to cardiovascular accreditations will be monitored for effectiveness and adjusted as needed. The Specialist will be responsible to provide documentation and information as requested by regulatory organizations. The Specialist will also report any potential changes in regulatory standards, any related implementation plans to ensure compliance, any progress on implemented policies and procedures, or planned visits by external agencies and results of visits. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role. Qualifications Degree in Nursing required, Bachelors degree preferred. Minimum 2 years of clinical acute care hospital experience required, 5 years clinical experience preferred. Prefer 2 years Cardiovascular experience. Medical/Surgical, Quality, Patient Safety, or Regulatory Compliance-related experience preferred. Active RN licensure required. Proficient in use of Microsoft Word and Excel programs. Must possess advanced computer skills to maintain databases, spreadsheets and develop reporting tools/graphs/control charts. Must have knowledge of cardiovascular accrediting agencies procedures and standard requirements. Must have excellent interpersonal skills to interact with physicians and other professionals. Must have exceptional interpersonal communications, teaching/presentation and writing skills, analytical and strong team building skills. Experience in project management, group facilitation and leadership group presentations preferred. Must have knowledge of process improvement methodologies. Must be self-directed and highly motivated with problem solving abilities. Must possess independent decision-making skills. Must be able to adapt to change and adjust job responsibilities as the organization and outside regulatory agencies mandate.
