Description

A Student Nurse Apprentice (SNA) shall work under the direct supervision the assigned RN Journey Worker (expert nurse with a BSN and one year of clinical experience or ASN and 2 years of clinical experience). The SNA will assist the RN in the practice of professional nursing by providing direct patient care to an assigned group of patients. This position may have additional duties assigned as needed per the Student Nurse Apprentice program.
Qualifications
Must be enrolled in participating Student Nurse Apprentice program approved by the Alabama Board of Nursing. Completed Fundamentals of Nursing and approval by the sponsoring school of Nursing. Prior acute care hospital experience preferred.
License / Certification required:
SNA certification required, BLS required? Knowledge of body mechanics and basic safety, principles of physical care and comfort. ? Knowledge of patho-pharmocology. ? Ability to work as a team under the direction of a licensed nurse. ? Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
