Required Qualifications:
Oneyear’s recent experience as a Cath Lab RN Valid RN license incompliance with state regulations Current BLS (AHA/ ARC)
Certification Current ACLS Certification Preferred Qualifications:
PALS or ENPC Certifications RCIS certification Other certificationsand licenses may be required for this position
Summary:
The TravelCath Lab RN provides specialized care for patients undergoingcardiac catheterization and interventional treatments. The RNprepares patients for procedures, assists during interventions, andmonitors immediate post-procedure recovery. Working closely withcardiologists and cath lab teams, this role requires advancedcardiac care skills, cardiac catheterization skills, strongcommunication, and the ability to adapt quickly while maintainingstrict safety and regulatory standards.
Essential Work Functions:
Conduct assessment of patients prior to procedures, includingreviewing medical history, performing physical exams Assist inpositioning patients correctly for the procedure and ensure EKGelectrodes and cardiac leads are properly placed Assist physiciansduring procedures, including the placement of catheters, wires,balloons, stents, structural heart devices, and other cardiacinterventions Operate and monitor hemodynamic equipment,recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac rhythms andhemodynamic waveforms Assist in arterial and/or venous sheathremoval using closure devices, manual pressure, or mechanicalcompression, and transport patients to the appropriate recoveryarea Monitor vital signs, ECG, and hemodynamic parameters duringcardiac catheterization and interventional procedure Supportpost-procedure care, including monitoring patient recovery andensuring a smooth transition to the next phase of care Maintain andtroubleshoot cath lab equipment, ensuring everything is functioningproperly and fully stocked for procedures Communicate effectivelywith team members, patients, families, and physicians to provideseamless care Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infectioncontrol guidelines, and regulatory standards Perform other dutiesas assigned within the scope of practice
Required Essential Skills:
Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonalcommunication skills The ability to read, write, & communicate inthe English language is required Ability to read/comprehend writteninstructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PCskills Physical Abilities
- Remain in a stationary position, moveabout, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bendingInterpersonal Skills
- To work effectively with a variety ofpersonnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positiveattitude and professionalism Technical/Motor Skills
- Ability tograsp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move aboutwhen assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.

- Must be able to cope with frequent contactwith the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines underpressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionallyas well as working without assistance from other personnel.
