Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (IR RN)•

Job Summary :

An Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (IR RN) providesspecialized nursing care to patients undergoing minimally invasive,image-guided procedures. The IR RN collaborates with interventionalradiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safeand effective administration of care before, during, and afterthese procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

Prepare and assess patients for interventional radiologyprocedures, ensuring they are informed and comfortable with theprocedure. Monitor and manage patients’ vital signs, sedation, and paincontrol during interventional procedures. Administer sedation, medications, and intravenous therapiesrequired for imaging-guided procedures. Collaborate with interventional radiologists, anesthesiologists,and other members of the healthcare team to provide safe, effectivecare. Assist in the placement, maintenance, and monitoring of specializedequipment such as catheters, needles, and contrast media. Monitor patients during post-procedure recovery, assessing forcomplications such as bleeding, infection, or adversereactions. Educate patients and families about procedures, recoveryexpectations, and post-procedure care. Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomesaccurately and in accordance with hospital policies and regulatorystandards. Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with theradiology team to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications :

Education :

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred;Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted.

Licensure :

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

Certification :
