Required Qualifications:

• One year of recent experience as an ICU RN
• Valid RN license incompliance with state regulations
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) and ACLS(AHA/ARC) certifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Critical CareRegistered Nurse (CCRN) certification

• TNCC, NIHSS

  certification

• Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position

Summary:

The ICU Registered Nurse is responsible for providingcomprehensive, critical care to patients in the intensive careunit. This role encompasses assessing and monitoring critically illpatients, operating life-support equipment, administering advancedtreatments, and collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcareteams. The position requires strong critical care skills, advancedclinical judgment, excellent communication, and a commitment tomaintaining the highest standards of patient safety andprofessional ethics in high-acuity settings.

Essential WorkFunctions:

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients,recognizing and responding to subtle changes in patient condition
• Administer complex medications and treatments in accordance withapproved critical care nursing techniques
• Operate and manageadvanced life support equipment
• Ensure patient safety and comfortin high-acuity ICU environments, addressing physical and emotionalneeds
• Record significant conditions, reactions, andinterventions, notifying the appropriate provider of changes inpatient status
• Perform and interpret advanced hemodynamicmonitoring, including arterial lines, central venous pressure, andpulmonary artery catheters
• Accurately document all assessments,interventions, and patient responses in the medical record in atimely manner to ensure continuity of care and compliance withregulatory standards
• Provide education to patients and familiesregarding the ICU environment, treatments, and recoveryexpectations
• Communicate closely with interdisciplinaryhealthcare teams to optimize patient care
• Maintain proficiency incritical care procedures and technologies through ongoing educationand training
• Adhere to strict infection control protocols toprotect immunocompromised patients and reduce risks
• Engage inquality improvement initiatives to enhance ICU patient outcomes andoperational efficiency
• Perform other duties as assigned withinscope
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection controlguidelines, and regulatory standards

Required Essential Skills:

• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonalcommunication skills
• The ability to read, write, & communicate inthe English language is required
• Ability to read/comprehendwritten instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiencyin PC skills

• Remain in a stationaryposition, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling,bending

• To work effectively with a varietyof personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positiveattitude and professionalism

• Ability tograsp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move aboutwhen assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.

• Must be able to cope with frequent contactwith the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines underpressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionallyas well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must beable to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally andcontinuous concentration to detail
