Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU –
PRN Position Summary:
Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursingprocess in accordance with applicable scope and standards ofpractice. Provides postoperative nursing care. Safely and adequately provides and utilizes equipment andsupplies based on unique patient need. Uses electronic nursing documentation for charging patientsupplies per department policy and procedure. Evaluates patient outcomes. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition asappropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patientcare, including patient transfer, discharge, referral andspiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and providespatient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition,and circumstances. Assesses the physiological and psychosocial needs of thepatient and works as an advocate for the physical and emotionalwell-being of the patient.

Minimum Qualifications:
Registered Nurse from the Virginia Board of Nursing or compactState required Bachelor’s degree preferred Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and theability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and takeappropriate actio n . Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work allshift patterns including weekends and holidays to ensure continuityof care and appropriateness of nursing coverage to the patients ofSovah Health Danville. Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Associationrequired Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American HeartAssociation required within 3 months of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American HeartAssociation required within 6 months of hire.
