Qualifications:

Qualifications and requirements Applicants should have a current VA (or Multi-state) RN license andpossess a nursing degree from an accredited nursing school(Bachelor’s degree preferred).

Additional requirements include:

American Heart Association Basic Life Support Experience in clinical area preferred American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months of hire Department/Unit Summary 6A is a unique department with 36 physical beds. 24 of those bedsare Telemetry beds, staffed at a 1:6 nurse to patient ratio. We seepatients with complaints of chest pain, arrhythmias, post-cardiaccatheterization, post-pacemaker or ICD implants, respiratorydistress, renal failure, surgical patients with significant cardiachistories, pulmonary embolism, and vascular interventions requiringhigh-risk anticoagulation management. The remaining 12 beds areProgressive Care, staffed at a 1:4 ratio. Those are patients postSTEMI in stable condition, respiratory failure on high leveloxygen, arrhythmia or blood pressure management with IV drips,diabetic ketoacidosis, post-operative patients requiring higherlevel monitoring, and general medical patients requiring higherlevel of monitoring. The blended unit concept is unique, andcreates a cohesive group of caregivers united behind a common goal.
