Registered Nurse (RN) –
Wound Care Clinic PRN Position Summary:
Provide education to patients, and families on the disease process,treatment, diagnostic testing and patient responsibilitiesinvolving treatment. Perform initial assessment and reassessments with appropriatedocumentation. Notify MD of any abnormal findings. Obtain laboratory samples per policy. (
Example:
woundcultures). Assess wounds and apply ordered dressings per policy. (
Example:
UnaBoots, Combiderm, Aquacel, etc). Document all treatments on appropriate forms/computer. Coordinate patient schedule to provide optimal care in a productivetimeframe. Promotes a positive image throughout the organization and communityby providing cooperative and courteous service to all customers,patients, families, visitors, physicians and associates. Interpret lab data and notify MD, pharmacy or other departments forany needed changes in treatment modality Complete department charges, supply charges and revisit dataaccurately and promptly to ensure compliance. Participates in quality improvement activities. Coordinate and assist with in-patient wound care as needed.
