Summary:

The Emergency Room RegisteredNurse (ER RN) delivers rapid-response, high-quality patient care ina fast-paced emergency department setting. This role involvesassessing patient conditions, implementing urgent care plans,administering life-saving treatments, and collaborating withmultidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality,efficient, patient-centered care in critical situations. The ER RNdemonstrates strong clinical skills, exceptional critical thinkingabilities, excellent communication under pressure, and a commitmentto maintaining the highest standards of patient safety andprofessional ethics.

Essential Work Functions:

Rapidly assess andtriage patients upon arrival prioritizing care based on theseverity of their condition Explain emergency procedures andtreatments to patients and families Administer prescribedmedications and treatments in accordance with approved emergencynursing techniques and protocols Prepare equipment and aidphysicians during emergency treatments and examinations Monitorpatient comfort and safety throughout their time in the emergencydepartment, responding to immediate needs Observe and documentpatient conditions as required within scope of practice Take andmonitor vital signs using clinical judgment to address deviationsand prevent complications Respond to life-saving situations basedupon emergency nursing standards, policies, procedures, andprotocols Document comprehensive nursing assessments interventions,and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR) Initiate patienteducation plans according to individualized needs, considering theacute nature of emergency care Collaborate effectively withinterdisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists,paramedics, social workers and other support staff to ensurecomprehensive care Perform other duties as assigned within thescope of practice Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infectioncontrol guidelines, and regulatory standards

Required EssentialSkills:
