One Place Metro Alabama Family Justice Center Camp Hope Nurse – Contract Position One Place Metro Alabama Family Justice Center 2290 Paul Bear Bryant Rd, Alpine, AL 35014 One Place Metro Alabama Family Justice Center Camp Hope Nurse – Contract Position The mission of One Place Metro Alabama Family Justice Center is to provide coordinated services to victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence through a multi-disciplinary team of professionals working together under one roof. Our vision is to remove barriers to reporting domestic and sexual violence and create a community where survivors experience hope, healing, and justice. Camp HOPE America – Alabama is a program housed at One Place to serve children impacted by domestic violence and family trauma. This position is a limited term contract position, for the dates of Sunday, July 28- Friday, August 1, 2025. Pre-Camp
- Review Camp HOPE schedule with Site Director
- Participate in pre-camp adult staff meet and greet and trainings
- Set up Camp HOPE nurse kit with files and supplies
- Review camper health forms Camp Week
- Maintain inventory of camp week general medical supplies
- Responsible for participant health check and medication drop on check-in day Monday, July 29
- Keep track of all medications and when they need to be distributed to each child
- Carry a first aid kit with you at all times during camp
- Be present at camp-wide activities: dining hall, nightly campfire, afternoon waterfront time
- Be prepared, mentally and physically, to assist with a medical emergency
- Monitor sick campers in health room as needed while maintaining “rule of 3”
- Communicate with caregivers regarding any injuries or illness
- Check in with Site Director and Site Coordinator regularly throughout the day General Program Support
- Participate in nightly adult staff debrief sessions
- Communication needs to the appropriate One Place or Camp Cosby staff
- Perform other responsibilities as determined in support of the mission of One Place and Camp HOPE Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Commitment to mission of One Place and Camp HOPE America
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a small, proactive team
- Flexibility and problem-solving skills
- Organization and time management/planning skills
- Ability to maintain confidential records and medications
- Sensitivity to diverse cultural, religious, and ethnic groups

- Ability to remain calm under pressure Minimum Qualifications
- Successfully pass a background check and have valid Alabama driver’s license and auto insurance
- Active LPN or RN license
- Experience working with children in a nursing setting Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an environment with survivors of interpersonal violence
- Experience in camp nursing
- Experience working in a trauma-informed environment The Camp Hope Nurse reports directly to the Camp HOPE Progrm Manager.
