Job Description

Registered Nurse Zirone Solutions Coxsackie, NY 12051 We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Healthcare Compliance Specialist to ensure that all healthcare professionals deployed across New York State facilities meet the strict standards outlined by the NY Office of General Services (OGS). The ideal candidate will oversee licensure verification, competency evaluations, documentation compliance, and maintain regular audits in alignment with federal and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Licensure and Education Verification Verify all current licenses and certifications through primary source validation. Confirm educational qualifications via internal or third-party verification methods. Maintain up-to-date skills checklists appropriate to the clinician’s specialty (updated annually). 2. Experience & Competency Management Review and validate at least 7 years of healthcare work history or all experience up to initial licensure. Administer and manage annual core testing (HIPAA, OSHA, National Patient Safety) with a minimum pass score of 60%. Conduct unit-specific competency exams annually based on Relias Angoff scoring standards. 3. Reference & Performance Evaluations Collect two professional references from the past two years, including full contact and work details. Facilitate performance evaluations after 3-4 weeks on assignment and annually for long-term staff. 4. Health and Immunization Requirements Ensure compliance with MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu vaccine or declination, and TB testing protocols. Review and collect annual physical or health statements signed by a physician. 5. Background and Drug Screening Perform comprehensive background checks including county, national, sex offender, OIG, EPLS, and SSN trace. Conduct annual criminal and exclusion list screenings. Oversee mandatory drug screenings for substances including amphetamines, opiates, barbiturates, etc. 6. Documentation & Orientation Distribute and collect signed acknowledgment of Employee Handbook, standards, and policies. Ensure BLS (CPR) certification for all staff and manage additional facility-specific certifications.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Compliance, or a related field preferred. Experience in healthcare compliance or credentialing preferred. Excellent understanding of NY OGS standards and healthcare regulatory frameworks. Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.

Compliance Requirements Overview:

Annual verification and documentation across licensure, health records, drug screening, background checks, and training. Proficiency in managing both internal and external evaluations and audits.
