Summary:
The Med Surg/Tele Registered Nurse deliverscomprehensive high-quality, patient-centered care inmedical-surgical and telemetry units. This role involves assessingpatient health conditions, monitoring cardiac telemetry data, andcollaborating with multidisciplinary teams to manage diversepatient needs. The position requires strong clinical skills inmed-surg and telemetry nursing, critical thinking abilities,excellent communication, and a commitment to maintaining thehighest standards of patient safety and professionalethics.
Essential Work Functions:
Explains procedures and treatments to patients and families,addressing concerns and ensuring understanding Administers prescribed medications and treatments in adherenceto nursing standards Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions,documenting changes and reporting concerns to the care team Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist physiciansduring treatments, and monitor patient responses Maintains a safe and comfortable environment for patientsrecovering from medical conditions or surgical procedures Document comprehensive patient information, including vitalsigns, medications, treatments, and care outcomes, in the medicalrecord Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians,physical therapists, and social workers, to create and implementindividualized care plans Manage multiple patients efficiently, prioritizing care basedon acuity and clinical needs Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed,including hand hygiene and PPE use Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences, ensuring they arerespected and integrated into the care plan Facilitate discharge planning, coordinating with patients,families, and external resources to ensure a smooth transition fromhospital to home Perform other duties as assigned within the scope ofpractice Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection controlguidelines, and regulatory standards
