The NP will conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, develop treatment recommendations, and collaborate with medical teams to integrate behavioral health care into the overall treatment plan for patients with co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions.

Responsibilities:

Provide timely psychiatric consultations for patients referred by medical teams, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement integrated treatment plans. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring for efficacy and side effects. Offer brief therapeutic interventions and psychoeducation to patients and families. Assess and manage patients experiencing psychiatric crises, including suicide risk and agitation. Serve as a resource for medical staff on behavioral health issues, providing education and support. Document all patient encounters and interventions accurately and efficiently.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

Current RNP and/or APN licensure in Arkansas. Eligibility for a Medicare provider number and DEA registration.
