Summary:
A Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering care within the scope of his/her training and expertise, collaborating with other disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes is met. This is done in conjunction with the objectives and policies of the hospital and the Nurse Practice Act of the state of Arkansas. A PACU Nurse is a Registered Nurse who provides nursing care to patients following surgery. The PACU nurse will focus on providing post-anesthesia nursing care to the patient in the immediate post-anesthesia period and transitioning them to Phase II care, the inpatient setting, or to a critical care setting for continued care. The PACU nurse carefully monitors the condition of patients who are waking up for postoperative anesthesia The PACU nurse will monitor post-operative vital signs, assess levels of consciousness, and carefully observe patients for any side effects from anesthesia.
Other information:
A new RN graduate from an accredited nursing program or Registered Nurse in good standing, and licensed to practice in the state of Arkansas. BSN preferred. Applies basic knowledge and skills to meet standard of care. Is able to practice as a full partner of an interdisciplinary team. Healthcare CPR required, some areas may require ACLS, PALS and/or NALS – training is provided. Specialty units require and will provide specific specialty education. This job will be authorized 72.00 hours bi-weekly.
