Job Description:
In this role you will be working with patients inan Ambulatory Surgery center both preparing them for their surgery,and then caring for them in the Post Anesthesia Care area (PACU) Wecare for both the inpatient and outpatient population. You willpossess the ability to care for patients in the pre-operative andpost-operative care setting. Our Nurses work in collaborativeenvironments with strong interdisciplinary teams, focused on apatient centered care model in a richly diverse work space. Underthe direction and general supervision of the Nurse Manager, theregistered nurse utilizes evidence based practices in accordancewith the State Nurse Practice Act, policies and procedures of thehospital and as directed by the medical staff. The registered nursewho through knowledge and ability uses the nursing process todevelop a plan of care which includes standards of practice to meetthe physical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needsof the patient and family. Must be available to work 8 hour shiftsbetween the hours of 5:00am and 7:30pm M-F May be later than 7:30pm depending on patient care needs There are not any 10 or 12 hourshifts available on this unit Qualifications Current Connecticut RNLicense. Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required).Registered Nurse with 1-2 years of current Medical/Surgicalexperience required. Requires a person who is highly motivated,energetic and organized, must be able to multitask. Looking forperson who has leadership skills and is willing to take on projectsand tasks as determined by the needs of the department. Looking forsomeone who has demonstrated ability to be in the resource role ontheir unit. BLS certification from the American Heart Associationrequired. We take great care of careers.
