Required Qualifications:
- One year’s recentexperience as a Neuro RN
- Valid RN license in compliance withstate regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC)
Certification PreferredQualifications:
- ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC)
- CPI Certification
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for thisposition
Summary:
The Registered Nurse specializing in Neurologydelivers comprehensive high-quality, patient-centered on Neurologyunits. This role involves assessing patient health conditions,monitoring cardiac telemetry data, and collaborating withmultidisciplinary teams to manage diverse patient needs. Theposition requires strong clinical skills in med-surg and telemetrynursing, critical thinking abilities, excellent communication, anda commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safetyand professional ethics.
Essential Work Functions:
- Performcomprehensive mental health assessments and document findings usingevidence-based tools
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams,including physicians, therapists, social workers, and casemanagers, to develop patient-centered care plans
- Provides andcoordinates patient care with other health team members
- Monitorspatients’ responses to interventions and reports outcomes andadjusting care plans as needed
- Administers medications as orderedwith appropriate documentation educating patients about their use,side effects, and adherence
- Support patients during medicalprocedures relevant to mental health care, such as ECT or crisisinterventions, and monitor their responses
- Performs other dutiesas assigned within scope of practice
- Adhere to hospital safetyprotocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Advocates for patients’ needs and rights, ensuring culturallysensitive and ethical care delivery
- Participate in qualityimprovement initiatives to enhance psychiatric nursing practice
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions,coping strategies, and available resources
- Complete accurate,timely documentation to support legal, clinical, and operationalrequirements
Required Essential Skills:
- Critical thinking,service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills
- The ability to read, write, & communicate in the English languageis required
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions,follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills

- Remain in a stationary position, move about, moveequipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending
- InterpersonalSkills
- To work effectively with a variety of personnel(professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude andprofessionalism

- Ability to grasp, finemanipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move about when assistingwith procedures and/or using department equipment.
