Job Summary:
Functioning within the context of the framework forprofessional nursing practice, the Cardiovascular Educator, inconsultation and collaboration with nursing leadership and theHealth Care Team, facilitates training, education and developmentby assessing, planning, developing, implementation, coordinationand evaluation of projects and programs for staff, faculty, patientpopulations and the community. This is accomplished to ensure rolecompetence, compliance with regulatory standards, and to meetorganizational goals.
Role Responsibilities:
- Partners withCardiovascular Division Nurse Educators in coordinating CV CORE andSurgical/HVI Skills initiatives.
- Provides education for emergingdisease processes and technologies as needed by specific services(i.e. Surgical CV & Cardiology).
- Assesses effectiveness ofeducation and revises learning experiences appropriately.
- Evolvecentralized courses for marketing to nurses outside of HHC as apotential revenue-generating initiative.
- Collaborate withHartford HealthCare education colleagues in other regions tosupport the development of centralized programs. Qualifications
- Current Connecticut nursing license.
- BSN Degree required Master’spreferred
- Demonstrated clinical competence in areas ofassignment.
- Minimum 3 years appropriate recent experience in anacute care setting.
- Education experience preferred or evidence ofteaching in clinical venues
- AHA or ARC CPR certification, ACLS Wetake great care of careers.
