The Emergency Department at Windham Hospital providespatients with high levels of care, with symptoms ranging fromtraumas to the common cold to drug overdoses and everything inbetween. Our multi-disciplinary team includes Registered Nurses(RNs), Advanced Providers, Nursing Assistants, and administrativestaff. The Emergency Department at Windham is equipped with 23beds, including a fast-track area, and behavioral health space. OurRNs see a wide variety of patients, including those with behavioralhealth and opioid related needs. Our staff prides itself in itsflexibility, initiative to help others in need as well as ourstrong cohesiveness as a team which ultimately gives our patientsthe highest level of care they expect and deserve.

JOB SUMMARY

OurRegistered Nurses work in collaborative environments with stronginterdisciplinary teams, focused on a patient centered care modelin a richly diverse work space. Under the direction and generalsupervision of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizesevidence based practices in accordance with the State NursePractice Act, policies and procedures of the hospital and asdirected by the medical staff. The Registered Nurse (RN) whothrough knowledge and ability uses the nursing process to develop aplan of care which includes standards of practice to meet thephysical, emotional spiritual, cultural and educational needs ofthe patient and family. Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

Workingknowledge of nursing process and customer service principles.

National certification in specialty preferred. Minimum one year RNexperience is required.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

Current BLScertification required. ACLS and PALS certifications requiredwithin 3 months of hire.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess current CT RNlicensure or in the process of obtaining the same and be a graduateof an accredited school of nursing. We take great care of careers.
