Administers Various Modalities Of Respiratory CareAccording To Established Departmental Policies To Achieve DesiredOutcome For Specific Treatment Modality And Documents PatientResponse Appropriately. 4. Suggests Modification Of Treatment Plan Based OnAssessment Of Patient Responses. 6. Participates In Patient/FamilyEducation With Regard To Goals Of Therapy, Proper Use OfMedications, Breathing Exercises/Techniques, Oxygen And TherapyEquipment, Skills Required To Successfully Manage Care And OtherAreas Identified. 7. Safely Operates All EquipmentAccording To Manufacturer Specification. Follows All Procedures OnSafe Patient Interactions And Body Mechanics. Obtains And MaintainsProper Vaccines And Immunizations As Required. Adheres To AllSafety Procedures In The Handling Of Hazardous Materials AndBlood-Born Pathogens. 20. Meets Performance Expectations ForCustomer Service, Teamwork, Resource Utilization, And Staff AndSelf Development As Outlined In Performance Review. 21. EDUCATION
Graduate ofaccredited School of Respiratory Therapy with credential ofRegistered Respiratory Therapist or credential of a CertifiedRespiratory Therapist with eighteen months to obtain RRTcredential. Cross training in other department may requireadditional certification and training.
EXPERIENCE
May Begin AsEntry Level Practitioner With No Experience But Must SuccessfullyAttain Necessary Skills During Orientation And Probationary Period.
LICENSURE
Current State Of Connecticut License Is A Requirement.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Cross Trained staff in Cardiology , Pulmonary Laband or Pulmonary Rehabilitation. Staff choosing to voluntarilycross train into Cardiology and or Pulmonary will be required toprecept with trained staff to acquire skills in those areasincluding but not limited to: Pulmonary Function Testing,Methacholine Challenges, Cardiac Stress Testing, EKG/Holter/EvenMonitoring, Pulmonary Rehabilitation. ACLS and Certification inCardiology is required within a year of completed cross training inCardiology. . The Certified Pulmonary Function TechnologistCertification is required/Registered Pulmonary FunctionTechnologist Certification preferred within 6 months of completedcross training to the Pulmonary Function Lab.
