Job Summary Our Nurses work incollaborative environments with strong interdisciplinary teams,focused on a patient centered care model in a richly diverse workspace. Under the direction and general supervision of the NurseManager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence based practices inaccordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, policies andprocedures of the hospital and as directed by the medical staff.

The registered nurse who through knowledge and ability uses thenursing process to develop a plan of care which includes standardsof practice to meet the physical, emotional spiritual, cultural andeducational needs of the patient and family. Bliss 11 Step Down isa 18-bed unit that provides care to patients with a wide range ofcomplex, highly acute medical issues. These issues include but arenot limited to; respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleeding,liver injury/failure, kidney injury/failure, sepsis, drug andalcohol withdrawal and a specialty in the care of the pulmonaryhypertension population. Under the supervision of a Critical CarePulmonologist, the unit is staffed 24 hours-a-day with a team ofPhysician Assistants and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses. Inthe Medicine Step Down, our goal is to develop our staff intowell-rounded, highly skilled medical professionals. The unit willpush you to your limits as you will be working in a fast-pacedenvironment where your critical thinking, vast medical knowledge,clear communication, and your extensive skillset will be challengedand grown. Qualifications Qualifications Current Connecticut RNLicense prior to Orientation. Graduate of an accredited nursingschool (BSN required).
