TheNeuro-Surgical ICU is a 17 bed adult inpatient unit caring forcritically ill Neuro-science and Neuro-surgical patients. Ourpatient population consists of stroke, head and spinal cord traumaand brain hemorrhage. These patients require nurses who specializein monitoring intracranial pressures, brain tissue oxygenation andhemo-dynamic monitoring. RN’s in this specialty also must have afamily-centered approach because of the critical nature of ourpatients. We also work closely with our Neuro-intensivist,Physician Assistants and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses toprovide the highest quality of care for our patients. Job SummaryIn critical care, our nurses are highly skilled and trained;helping to provide expertise at the bedside and the highest qualitycare in the most compassionate way. The units heavily rely on ateam-based mentality in which all healthcare team members workcongruently to achieve the best outcomes based on the HartfordHealthcare values of Safety, Excellence, Integrity and Caring.

Qualifications Qualifications Current Connecticut RN License.

Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required). BLScertification by the American Heart Association, ACLScertification, and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required priorto date of hire. Minimum one year Acute Care RN experience stronglypreferred. In exceptional circumstances, experienced ASN/ADN nursescurrently in pursuit of a BSN or MSN may be considered.
