We are currently recruiting for an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife, to join our team based model of care in one of our outpatient clinic located in Bridgeport. This position is based 100% of the time in our clinic providing patient care. The Nurse Mid-wife will provides holistic, quality, and cost-effective care for women, and participates in the medical management of uncomplicated prenatal and gynecological patients, to achieve or maintain optimal health status, manage disease, and reduce risk of illness. Practices within a health care system that allows medical consultation, collaborative management, and referral health care of women, i.e., well woman, gynecology, obstetrics (antepartum, labor, delivery and postpartum), and family planning.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN required. Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, testing, and certification.

EXPERIENCE

Minimumof three years’ of professional nursing midwife experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Working knowledge of Spanish helpful, not required

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION

Completion of a Nurse-Midwifery Program accredited by the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) required; Certification by the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) required; Current Connecticut State RN and LNM license required. Master’s Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field required. DEA certification. CPR certification required upon hire and recertification bi-annually. Basic Life Support certification.
