Hospital:

St. Vincent’s Medical Center, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606-4201 Position details: Full time, newborn nursery and hospital pediatric coverage

Schedule:

Six (6) weekday shifts and two (2) weekend shifts per four (4) week cycle There are thirteen (13) cycles per year Each shift is twenty-four (24) hours For weekday shifts, physician must be on-site at the hospital between 5:00PM – 10:00AM of each twenty four (24) hour shift and available via phone between 10:00AM – 5:00PM For weekend shifts, physician must be on-site at the hospital for the entire twenty-four (24) hour shift Hospital coverage includes rounding on newborns, attending c-sections (both scheduled and emergent), managing photo therapy, occasional pedi consults to E.D. or floors, and stabilization of newborns for transport Faculty opportunity with Quinnipiac University teaching med students Support from neonatologists 24/7 No circumcisions Hospital averages over 1,000 deliveries annually
