Every other weekend androtating holidays Windham Hospital is proud to offer a NurseResidency program to help newly licensed nurses successfullytransition into clinical practice by providing support, resourcesand mentorship. We care about you and are committed to empower youto successfully navigate your professional nursing journey. We havepartnered with the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™ to provideresources to help new nurses gain confidence and increasecompetence during this 12-month program. Your well-being as a newnurse is enhanced through hands-on training and processing clinicalexperiences. Nurse Residents will be hired directly to a specialtyarea where they will receive focused clinical education. Thepositions offered vary based on the needs of the hospital and mayinclude Med / Surg / Telemetry, Emergency and Operating Room. Inaddition to clinical immersion on the unit, Nurse Residents meet ina classroom format to share experiences and receive additionaleducation and training. Who is enrolled in a nurse residencyprogram?
- Every newly licensed RN (completion of NCLEX with activeCT RN license) with less than one-year experience
- Programenrollment is based on hire date Graduates of this 12-month programwill:

Qualifications Education :
Graduate of a school ofnursing. Soon to be graduates are welcome to apply!
Experience :
New RN Graduate Nurses or newly licensed RNs.
License andCertification:
- Active State of CT RN license. New graduates maystart employment under Graduate Nurse license status (per the Stateof CT DPH guidelines) with pending license and must successfullycomplete first NCLEX testing and hold active license within 90 daysfrom graduation date. Once active state of CT RN license isobtained newly-licensed nurse will be placed into Nurse Residentprogram cohort sessions.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) uponhire.
- Ability to obtain and maintain department specificcertifications.
By completing the Nurse Residency Program,newly-licensed nurses are able to competently and safely manage afull patient assignment with confidence, and will bewell-positioned to become future leaders in the nursingprofession.
