Registered Nurse (RN) will work in our outpatient Infusion Centersproviding holistic, quality nursing care for patients/familiesand/or others for a patient population within the Infusion Centers.
Responsibilities include but, are not limited to the following:
- Demonstrates excellent ability to perform patient assessments, andprovide symptom management as well as patient and family education.
- Practices safe administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy,infusions, injections, and transfusions.
- Acts as part of amultidisciplinary team to provide continuity of care throughoutvarious stages of treatment and follow-up including, but notexclusive to: providers, social work, dietician, integrativemedicine, pharmacy, navigators, laboratory, radiation therapy,genetics, and clinical research.
- Collaborate with provideroffices to schedule patients for infusion visits.
- Triage ofpatients through use of pathways and collaboration with physiciansfor toxicities, symptom management and needs for referrals withinthe RN scope of practice.
- Manage a caseload of patients receivinga variety of infusion and oral therapies on an outpatient basis.
- Demonstrates high level skills to manage complex workloadeffectively to provide safest, high quality care.
- Demonstrates anexcellent ability to communicate through various methods and withvarious audiences to achieve desired outcome(s).
- Participates andengages in continuous professional development, safety behaviorsand focus on the patient experience.
Qualifications MinimumRequirements:
- Current Connecticut RN License
- Current OCNChemotherapy/Biotherapy card (or within first month of hire)
Education:
- BSN strongly preferred
Experience:
- Two (2) years ofPrevious Oncology Nursing experience strongly preferred We takegreat care of careers.
