Job Summary:

Coordinates nursingactivities and resources within clinical specialty or department.

Responsibilities:

Coordinates staff scheduling andeducational/development activities. Participates in and providesoversight of Spine Surgery/Neurosurgery Program Serves as aresource for the development, implementation, and evaluation ofperformance improvement initiatives Serves as resource to staff andexternal contacts on issues related to patient care, patient flowand clinical standards, policies and procedures. Assists withquality management and performance improvement related to theSpine/Neurosurgery Program Plans and implements programs tostrengthen professional competency and meet educational needs ofcolleagues Provides necessary assistance as the neuro-spineresource nurse in organizing, preparing, circulating and scrubbingspine/spinal fusion surgical cases Collaborates with members of theneuro-spine team to deliver service specific knowledge andfacilitate organization of surgeon’s preferences in equipment,maintenance and control of supplies, instrumentation and optimalsurgical environment Adheres to all organizational policies andprocedures Qualifications Licensed Registered Nurse credentialedfrom the Connecticut Department of Public Health obtained prior tohire date or job transfer date Associate degree in Nursingrequired, BSN preferred Certified BLS Provider credentialed fromthe American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 2 Months (60days) of hire date or job transfer date Three (3) years nursingexperience required Three (3) years Operating Room experiencestrongly preferred We take great care of careers.
