Required Qualifications:

One year ofrecent experience as a CVOR RN Valid RN license in compliance withstate regulations Current BLS (AHA/ ARC)

Certification PreferredQualifications:

ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification Other certificationsand licenses may be required for this position

Summary:

The CVORnurse has the responsibility of providing direct and indirectnursing care to assigned patients. The CVOR nurse assists inmonitoring and supporting the patient throughout the surgicalprocedure. They are responsible for collaborating closely with theentire surgical team to ensure the optimization of patient outcomesby confirming all necessary surgical supplies and equipment aresterile and functional, assisting with safe patient positioning anddraping, and coordinating immediate post-surgical continued patientcare.

Essential Work Functions:

Maintain proficiency inCardiovascular/Cardiothoracic surgical procedures including openand closed heart surgeries Prepare the Cardiovascular operatingroom for the patient and surgical procedure Assemble equipment,supplies, medications, and implants, ensuring equipment functionsand supplies are available Collaborate with surgeons,anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the surgical team to delivercoordinated care Utilize data from surgical preference cards forthe surgical procedure and surgeon Position patients safely usingapproved devices to prevent injury and enable optimal surgicalexposure Actively participate in Universal Protocol and timeout toconfirm patient identity, procedure, and surgical site Handle anddocument specimens accurately to ensure diagnostic integrityProvide post-surgical care coordination, including patient handoffto the recovery team Assess, plan, and evaluate the nursing care ofthe patient before, during, and after a surgical procedure untilpatient handoff to the next phase of care Ensure that sterileprocedures are followed throughout the course of surgery Respondeffectively to emergencies, such as cardiac arrest, during surgeryPerform other duties as assigned within the scope Adhere tohospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, andregulatory standards

Required Essential Skills:
