Must have IV Skills, be very organized and have experience in afast past environment. Team player is a MUST! Our Preop andAmbulatory Surgery Unit is looking for a full-time eveningRegistered Nurse. We provide care for patients in preop area andrecovery after ambulatory procedures utilizing valued teamworkapproach.

Hours:

Monday-Friday 12p-8:30p Implements physicianorders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments,procedures and special tests, and document treatment as required bycompany policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations.

Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify andassess patients’ conditions. Assesses and evaluates patient needsfor, and responses to, care rendered. Applies sound nursingjudgment in patient care management decisions. Provides primary andemergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries andillnesses. Administers over-the-counter and prescriptionmedications as ordered. Participates in patient/family teachingbased on the developmental age of patient and type of procedure.

Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for allpatients. Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintainstandards of professional nursing. Minimum Qualifications Graduateof a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma,Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred Must holdcurrent NYS Registered Nurse license Obtains and maintainscertification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Excellent communication,prioritization, organizational and time-management skills Possessesknowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solvingtools and techniques and demonstrates ability to apply in supportof departmental and patient care quality improvement.
