A Brief Overview Coordinates patient care for assigned patients utilizing thenursing process. What you will do Utilizes the nursing process of assessing, planning,implementing, and evaluating all nursing care provided within theCardiology, Cardiac and Pulmonary rehab, and Cath Lab settings.
Assesses the patient, records significant conditions and reactionsand notifies supervisor or physician as appropriate. Acts as a patient/family advocate and intervenes if necessaryto ensure that patient care is not compromised. Monitors follow-up and provides further intervention asneeded. Administers of conscious sedation. Monitors and cares for patients undergoing cardiac or vascularangiogram/arteriogram. Assists physicians and monitors patients undergoing stresstests including dobutamine stress testing. Prepares patients and assists in telemedicine consults. Initiates, provides, or delegates patient/family teaching at alevel of expertise and documents appropriately, noting therecipients’ participation and response including pre-procedurecalling and education. Administers and interprets EKGs. Demonstrates knowledge of exercise principles and developmentof an appropriate exercise/rehab plan based on cardiac andpulmonary rehab patient evaluation and assessment. Performs ongoingevaluations of patient’s compliance and response to therapy, andadjusts plan of care accordingly. Essential Qualifications The individual must be able to work the hours specified.
