Department:

General Surgery is a 44-bedpost-operative unit that provides care for patients during theirrecovery phase until discharged from the hospital. Jobresponsibilities include but are not limited to implementing plansof care, TPN, PCA, tube feeds, ostomy, biliary drains, urinarycatheters, IV antibiotics, wound care, wound vacs, managing centrallines, JP drains, NG tubes, and pain management with bothpharmacological and non-pharmacological modalities. Job Summary andQualifications Provides leadership which facilitates the deliveryof professional nursing care for the comfort and well-being ofpatients. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning,implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise anddocument care and teaching of patients and family. Implementsmedically prescribed interventions.

What qualifications you willneed:

Required Education:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollin a BSN or advanced degree program and obtain a BSN within 5 yearsof hire date into RN position. Grandfathering will be acceptedbetween departments and Mission Health entities. Exemptions, orextensions, may be approved by the facility CNO and reported out tothe CNO Council members. Each facility will ensure tracking ofexemptions should this information be needed. RNs with 10 years ormore of experience are exempt.

Preferred Education:

Masters inNursing.

Required License/Certifications:

Must have and maintaincurrent licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Boardof Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license mayapply, licensee should confirm with
