POSITION SUMMARY

The Supervisor of Workers Compensation Case Management will serve as a guiding resource to the Workers Compensation (WC) Team, providing orientation, training, coaching, and support. Under the direction of the Director of Associate Services, The Supervisor of Workers Compensation Case Management will ensures current and former Health First associates who have had work-related injuries or illnesses are cared for in accordance with policies, procedures, and legal requirements. The Supervisor of Worker Compensation Case Management assists in managing medical treatments with focused attention particularly on litigated claims to appropriate resolution. Ensures that work tasks are well-organized, prioritized, and delegated appropriately to Workers Compensation team members. Monitors the effectiveness of Workers Compensation services to ensure the team is meeting customer needs in the most efficient and productive manner possible. Has weekly case reviews with the WC Team, monthly reviews with the Third-Party Administrator (TPA), and at least quarterly meetings with the Medical Director; compiling injury type reports and monitoring medical care costs. Proactively adapts a flexible solution-oriented approach towards work and makes recommendations to enhance the WC service delivery. Oversees adherence for compliance with all Workers Compensation laws and regulations, including mandatory reporting requirements. Utilizes the Occupational Disability Guidelines as a basis to determine appropriateness of medical treatment, upholding applicable State and Federal Workers Compensation disability regulatory requirements. Participates in workgroups and committees (e.g. Environment of Care Meetings) as needed, providing WC subject matter expertise. Coordinates the injured associate’s medical and physical conditions with treating healthcare providers, along with discussing/recommending alternative treatment plans for the individual and cost-effective treatment alternatives as appropriate. Manages to conclusion all medical onlyand lost time claims with a keen emphasis on returning injured associates back to work as soon as possible, considering appropriate job modifications, etc. Provides assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the individual’s progress and ensures injured associate is on a proactive, appropriate, cost-effective treatment plan. Oversees the ongoing evaluation of treatment and return to work plan, within established protocols, assigning field nurses to attend healthcare provider and attorney visits. Ensures, in coordination with TPA, that hospital discharge planning conferences are occurring for the purpose of determining appropriateness of care and developing an effective long-term care strategy while also coordinating medical treatment and associated diagnostic testing. Investigates and evaluates claims, assertively pursuing all claim resolution opportunities in the best interest of the individual and the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

Associate’s degree in Nursing (ASN) or Nursing Diploma.

Work Experience:

Five (5) years’ experience in Worker’s Compensation Case Management.

Licensure:

Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Florida.

Certification:
None Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Ability to explain medical conditions and treatment plans to the associate/customer, along with the Third-Party Administrator, with professionalism and accurate oral and written communication. Strong clinical background with knowledge of medical causation and relatedness as well as use of medical treatment protocols. Self-motivated with the ability to perform case management duties independently. Build and establish constructive, open and cooperative working relationships with internal and external business partners while also maintaining calm and focus in pressure situations. Excellent interpersonal skills, phone/virtual etiquette, and organizational skills, delivering outstanding customer service utilizing compassionate care to our customers. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS systems, OHM, Taleo, internet searches and comfort with other software programs. Ability to independently prioritize, meet short deadlines, and muti-task with minimal supervision. Benefits
