Required Qualifications:

Oneyear of recent Med Surg RN experience Valid RN license incompliance with state regulations Current BLS certification(AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications:

NIHSS certification ACLS (AHA /ARC) certification Other certifications and licenses may berequired for this position

Summary:

The Med Surg Registered Nursedelivers comprehensive high-quality, patient-centered care inmedical-surgical and telemetry units. This role involves assessingpatient health conditions, monitoring cardiac telemetry data, andcollaborating with multidisciplinary teams to manage diversepatient needs. The position requires strong clinical skills inmed-surg and telemetry nursing, critical thinking abilities,excellent communication, and a commitment to maintaining thehighest standards of patient safety and professional ethics.

Essential Work Functions:

Explains procedures and treatments topatients and families, addressing concerns and ensuringunderstanding Administers prescribed medications and treatments inadherence to nursing standards. Conduct comprehensive assessmentsof patients’ conditions, documenting changes and reporting concernsto the care team Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assistphysicians during treatments, and monitor patient responsesMaintains a safe and comfortable environment for patientsrecovering from medical conditions or surgical procedures Documentcomprehensive patient information, including vital signs,medications, treatments, and care outcomes, in the medical recordCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians,physical therapists, and social workers, to create and implementindividualized care plans Manage multiple patients efficiently,prioritizing care based on acuity and clinical needs Ensureinfection control practices are strictly followed, including handhygiene and PPE use Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences,ensuring they are respected and integrated into the care planFacilitate discharge planning, coordinating with patients,families, and external resources to ensure a smooth transition fromhospital to home Perform other duties as assigned within the scopeof practice Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection controlguidelines, and regulatory standards

Required Essential Skills:

Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonalcommunication skills The ability to read, write, & communicate inthe English language is required Ability to read/comprehend writteninstructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PCskills Physical Abilities

  • Remain in a stationary position, moveabout, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bendingInterpersonal Skills
  • To work effectively with a variety ofpersonnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positiveattitude and professionalism Technical/Motor Skills
  • Ability tograsp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move aboutwhen assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.

  • Must be able to cope with frequent contactwith the general public, customers, and meeting deadlines underpressure.
