- Hemology/Oncology practices autonomously and in coordinion with health care professionals and other individuals.
The incumbent provides a wide range of health care services, including the diagnosis and management of acute, chronic, and complex health problems; health promotion; disease prevention; health educion; and counseling to individuals, families, groups and communities. Must be an excellent communicor and team player who is adaptable to the needs of a growing medical center. Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing high-quality care, increasing access and improving outcomes for Veterans. Obtaining and evaluing medical histories; performing physical examinions; performing therapeutic and diagnostic procedures; and ordering laborory studies, radiographs, electrocardiograms, and other special examinions. Making arrangements for further care if approprie (e.g., by entering consults) and serving as a consultant to other providers. Working collaborively with all levels of staff including trainees (e.g., medical students, NP/RN students, PA students, interns, residents, etc.) and a multidisciplinary staff in a fast-paced educional, and collegial environment. Developing and implementing evidence based nursing protocols and organizing educional activities targeted toward staff training and development. Independently manages a panel of pients with acute and chronic health conditions, emphasizing health promotions and disease prevention, through evidence based diagnosis and trement. Developing and implementing an individualized plan to achieve optimal populion health and disease management. Demonstring leadership and working collaborively with the interdisciplinary team.
