Job Summary:

/n AMedical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (MS Tele RN) providespatient care for adults with acute medical conditions,post-surgical needs, and those requiring telemetry monitoring. TheMS Tele RN monitors patients’ cardiac rhythms, administersmedications, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team todeliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. /n/n

KeyResponsibilities:

/n The MS Tele RN assesses, plans, implements, andevaluates nursing care for patients with acute or chronicconditions. This includes monitoring patients’ vital signs andcardiac telemetry readings for abnormalities or arrhythmias,administering medications, treatments, and interventions asprescribed by the physician, and using telemetry equipment tocontinuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms. They identifyand respond to changes in patients’ cardiac rhythms or vital signs,reporting significant findings to the physician or rapid responseteam promptly. /n In addition to monitoring, the MS Tele RNmaintains accurate and detailed patient records, includingassessments, interventions, and outcomes, while documentingtelemetry monitoring findings and nursing actions in accordancewith hospital policies. They work closely with physicians, casemanagers, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionalsto coordinate patient care. Educating patients and their familiesabout medical conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care, aswell as providing emotional support to those dealing with seriousor life-changing conditions, is an integral part of the role. /nThe MS Tele RN recognizes and responds to signs of patientdeterioration or emergency situations such as cardiac arrest,participating in rapid response or code blue events, and performinglife-saving interventions such as CPR or defibrillation whennecessary. Ensuring patient safety by adhering to infection controlprotocols and medication administration guidelines is essential.

The MS Tele RN also advocates for patients’ needs and ensures theirrights are respected, while managing high-acuity patients andprioritizing care effectively. /n/n

Qualifications:

/n The MS Tele RNmust have an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicingstate and an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor ofScience in Nursing (BSN). Basic Life Support (BLS) and AdvancedCardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required, andTelemetry Nurse Certification is preferred. Previous experience inmedical-surgical or telemetry nursing is ideal, although newgraduates with strong clinical skills and telemetry training may beconsidered. Wellspring Nurse Source Job
